Captain Kathryn Janeway
(Kate Mulgrew)
Captain

Commander Chakotay
(Robert Beltram)
Second Officer

Lt Commander Tuvok
(Tim Russ)
Security Officer

Loyal to her crew, reasonable
considering her position. But some times appears
to be weak on discipline, unless worked up. Not
that she gets that way very often.
Generally follows Star Fleet doctrines, to point
of illogical and inaccurate assumptions.
Seeks advice, but determined once on her own direction.
Love affair alluded to before arriving Delta Quadrant.
Mentally strong but has shown occasional glimpses
of humanity, accepts risks.
Very much explorer scientist, but does not like
the outdoors, bit of a conflict?
|
Aledged Red Indian blood. No sign
of racial wisdom, except occasional mutterings
over animal gods.
Nothing much happens to him, sort of stable spiritual
counsellor to the Captain. So laid back he almost
makes her look human!
Secret passions for the Captain.
Ex-Maqui ships captain. Difficult to see him getting
worked up enough to be a rebel!
How he manages to form a relationship with Seven
of Nine by the end of the series, can only be
the result of Paramounts derranged logic
|
Ships resident Vulcan. Of obscure
vintage.
Every Star Ship should have one!
Straight up and down Star Fleet. Follows rules
without question.
More scientist than security/weapons officer.
Guaranteed to be impossibly calm in all situations.
Tries to tame the Captains enthusiasum.

Ensign/Lietenant Tom Paris
(Robert Duncan O'Neil)
Conn Officer

B'Elanna Torres
(Roxanne Dawson)
Engineering Officer

Ensign Harry Kim
(Garrett Wang)
Ops Officer

Typical flyer. Not the most intelligent
person aboard, suffers badly from flights of fancy
and imagination.
Occaisionally boy friend to B'Elanna Torres.
'Friend' to Harry Kim, along the lines of a bad
influence to shy child.
Appears to have no temper traits, no nerves.
If he is supposed to be Star Fleets best pilot,
Voyager handles like a pregnant cow. It is always
being shot at and hit!
Superficially interested in late twentieth century.
If knowledge is so great why is Delta Flyer using
touch panels for general control?
|
Human/Klingon
Very intelligent engineer.
Very well and articulately spoken, little slang.
Ex-Maqui, and looks the part, with temper tantrums
and feelings for what is happening.
One of three characters to display genuinely natural
emotions. Pity she is the only one where they
ought to be genuine
I think she would get bored with Tom Paris.
Good for techno babble.
Has hit and miss relationship with Seven of Nine.
Seemingly appreciates her intelligence, but distrusts
her origins. Forming a certain level of friendship
with her as they are pushed together.
|
Very typical Officer Cadet.
A wimp!
Dim to point of stupidity, follows rules. No independence
in him.
No individuality in his actions.
If he does anything, it goes wrong. One of life's
victims, he could get knocked down by a bus in
the next street!
No character traits, totally anonymous. Females
aren't interested in him because he is as dull
as ditch water.
Plays clarinet.
Thinks he is in love with Seven of Nine, the Delaney
twins or any other female.
Make weight to say things like, 'shields 80%'
and of course self inflicted accidents.
The Captain is surprisingly tolerant and protective
of this subaltern.

Ships Doctor

Neelix

Caterer/Morale Officer

Seven of Nine
(Jeri Ryan)

A Hologram
One of the few that has a character! All very
phoney considering what he is!
He possess a form of either straight satirical
humour, or as straight man for Seven of Nine.
Competent.
Has a fondness for Seven of Nine. Perhaps because
she is showing some independence of thought?
Supposedly teaching Seven of Nine how to cope
in the galaxy of humanity. Just as well as most
of the rest of the crew are rather shy of this
necessary trait.
Caustic about Tom Paris's medical abilities, but
accepts his assistance without question.
|
Talaxian
One of the few aliens that looks as though he
may actually be alien! Certainly generally different
to every body else Voyager meets.
Seemingly impossibly cheerful.
Has shown some genuine emotions.
Genuinely average intelligence.
Apparently average cook, but accepted because
nobody wants to do the job? Wild dress sense!
|
Human/Borg
Rescued from the soulless Borg she could be forgiven
for being bland. But she has developed a strong
and independent character, that is periodically
turned down hard by the writers as they realise
they are going too far in relation to rest of
crew!
Parents seemed too interested in what they were
doing to care for her properly.
Borg assimilation led to massive education blitz,
it made her very intelligent and a perfectionist.
She shows genuine surprise when she fails to be
as perfect as she wants to be.
Humour is innocent of any forethought
Stands very straight, even when relaxed. Shows
off her body well (clever)
Certain programmes have removed her implants,
a sad mistake, makes her appear rather less than
she really is, she seems to automatically lose
all the humanity she possesed. Her hair doesn't
suit her when unrestrained.
